Wooden Desk

Attraction without reason, sitting
at a station and not leaving
nothing but a need to rip it out
and tear myself from a wooden desk
I didn’t ask for, didn’t want for
lipstick at 9am and trepidation
a two mile walk and a need for satiation
had I not been so sick I might have
I might have leaped and tasted
but I tore out my attraction
and considered for a minute
the logic, the professionalism
the: what then?
