It’s not the kind that enriches you,
only takes a fortnight and teaches you
how to be more selfish, care less
about death and about any of this.

How to spend money and sleep more,
eat less and waste more. I was taught
the ways to abandon family, the ways
in which, nobody raised me. The hows
and whys to an upbringing, the times
that changed with her goings and comings

Thank god for fortnights
and for families I don’t belong to
