Imagine – for every hour, three asleep
the difficulty staying awake
in an otherwise mundane situation
normality, ten hours away 
for a few hours relaxation
and eight more spent asleep
before an easy, if uncomfortable, rising
imagine – two thirds of a life
spent in nightmare, in filthy slumber
the impossibility of rising
before the evening
for every hour of doing, I spend another
three asleep
