Golden State

And so we go – deserts, cacti
studios and scenery, winding
roads, roadside stops and
a jetlagged country. But
a personal journey, shared
in piers and pavements and
I-saw-it-on-TV. It has to be done
to be discovered, hiked,
see the dinosaurs and feel
the summer heat on your back

California – oh boardwalks,
oh Ferris wheels; oh mountains
and palm trees. I hadn’t time
to commit you to paper
but I’m sure I will, for years
yet to come
