Until you have been in a bit of a difficult situation
and considered, genuinely, that death might be an option
I am not sure how much we have in common
and I mean off-hand, not actively suicidal, not
I hope you miss me
just knowing that you have an out
that when it’s all too much, that when
the anxiety and desperation at the prospect
of another seventy years of this shit
you could just as easily back out
and never know that anybody was mad at you for it

“I am not sure how much we have in common”- I said something so similar to someone today. It’s so very hard to bond with people that can’t relate to the dark places we’ve been. Beautifully written.
